What to expect on the day.
Knowing what's going to happen makes the whole thing far less stressful. Here's exactly what a Buzzkill visit looks like from start to finish.
Arrival
Your technician will arrive within your booked time slot. They'll introduce themselves, confirm the property details, and ask you to show them to the nest — or the area where you've seen wasp activity.
Assessment
Before any treatment begins, the nest will be assessed. This means checking its size, location, and access. In most cases treatment can begin straight away. In some situations — for example if the nest turns out to be a bee nest, or is in an unsafe location — your technician will talk you through the options before doing anything.
Treatment
Treatment typically takes up to 30 minutes on site. Depending on the nest type and location, your technician will use either insecticide powder — the most common approach, applied directly into the nest entrance — or insecticide spray, used where powder isn't suitable. Both methods are professional-grade products used by trained technicians. Your technician will explain which is being used and why.
Multiple Nests
If additional nests are found on the day that weren't declared at booking, your technician will let you know and offer to treat them during the same visit (subject to remaining time and access). Each additional nest is charged at £35. If there isn't time to treat all nests in a single visit, a follow-up booking will be arranged.
After Treatment
Once treatment is complete, your technician will let you know what to expect in the hours and days that follow. Wasp activity typically continues for a short period as returning wasps encounter the treated nest — this is normal and expected. Activity should reduce significantly within 24–48 hours. You don't need to remove the nest. Treated nests are left in place — they won't be reused.
Before You Leave
Your technician will confirm that treatment has been completed, explain any follow-up advice, and answer any questions you have. Payment for any additional nests agreed on the day can be made by card on site or via a secure payment link.
